Rick Scott to headline Central East Florida RLC's Constitution Day Dinner
"This event will honor those who pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to create our great nation" RLCCEF founder Matt Nye said. "This country was founded on the principles of individual rights, limited government and free enterprise, so it is very appropriate that we will have entrepreneur and Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott as our keynote speaker". "Now, more than ever, Americans must become active in the political process - we want them to come out, get engaged, and learn how they can make a difference within both the Republican Party and their government," Nye said. "Apathy is no longer an option; just as our forefathers stood against the redcoats so many years ago, Americans must once again stand up and fight if they want to preserve the greatest country known to man." RLC of Florida signs resolution petitioning RPOF to overturn Chairman Greer grievance rulingsThe late summer ruling from Jim Greer removed several RLC members from leadership positions within the RPOF Orlando, Florida — Last week, the Florida chapter of the Republican Liberty Caucus held a statewide meeting whereby the membership passed a resolution condemning the actions of the Republican Party of Florida. In September five Republican Liberty Caucus members were removed from the Republican Party leadership for being outspoken supporters of limited government policies, individual liberties and for demanding accountability within the Republican Party of Florida Leadership. Vice Chairwoman Kimberly Wells of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Northeast Florida (RLCNEF) explains the ruling from September. “The Republican Party of Florida unjustly purged a number of fellow Republican Liberty Caucus members due to their outspoken criticism and call for accountability within the Republican Party of Florida.” The Ruling from Chairman Greer came after a long battle to silence any dissent within the Republican Party of Florida. The reasons for this ‘Party Purge’ were that the ousted members have collectively and individually called for a complete audit of the Republican Party of Florida finances, advocated for candidates not favored by party leaders, and because we are members of the Republican Liberty Caucus. “This resolution is important because it lets grassroots activists know that there are still people in the Republican Party who are standing firm on principles,” said John Stevens, RLCNEF Chairman. “It also sends a message to Jim Greer and the Party’s leadership that the Republican Liberty Caucus is not backing down in its fight for accountability amongst Republicans.”
